Kalia Tattoo Tonga is a revival of what was once a cultural practice throughout the Kingdom. The use of patterns and cultural designs to tell the stories and journeys of one’s life is what the art of Tongan Ta Tatau (Tattoo) is all about. Tattooing was no longer practiced in Tonga after the missionaries arrived due to its association with violence and brutal civil wars. However, the practice of tattooing in more modern times has been seen in a more positive light as a distinctive art form to Tonga.
Specialising in the art of Tongan tattoo, Kalia Tattoo Tonga uses creativity and the willingness to think outside the box to create unique tattoos. Customised Patterns and designs are drawn free hand to tell your story. Founded over a decade ago, this family business has branches overseas with the Tongan branch in operation for 7 years which is run by George Cocker who creates beautiful tattoos full of Tongan art and history.
